Local Area Network (LAN) Design and Implementation

Wireless Networking
Wireless networking has seen great technological advances over the past several years. Wireless solutions utilizing radio frequency technology range from 2 to 11 Mbps, and can be as fast as 155 Mbps point to point. When dealing with buildings within a few miles of each other, wireless is often a more viable solution than T1s or other dedicated lines. Wide Area Network (WAN) Design and Implementation

Data Cabling
As you may know, a prerequisite for any network is the installation of network cabling. Unlike some other vendors' installations, JDK gives special attention to the professional appearance of it's MDFs (the area where all wires are terminated). Since we understand our customers' systems better than anyone it makes sense to have JDK manage Internet connectivity as well in order to create a more integrated system, and a single source for questions.

Firewalls
The internet provides more opportunity than ever before, however with that opportunity comes risk. JDK helps you manage and minimize that risk with integrated firewall and router solutions. Firewalls can play two roles. First, they minimize network intrusions (or hackers) by verifying all traffic passing through them using methods such as 'stateful inspection.' Secondly, they can prevent your network's users from accessing websites or resources that are 'inappropriate' for the workplace or educational environment.

Network Monitoring and Remote Maintenance
When your network has a problem, you need to ensure it gets fixed as soon as possible. In order to facilitate this, JDK offers a network monitoring and remote maintenance package. If you are connected to the Internet, we monitor your network's functionality on a 24-hour basis. If anything goes wrong, an alert is generated and we can begin corrective steps immediately. This could include initiating a phone company test on a down line, or investigating server problems via remote control software. All this can happen even if the problem occurs during non-business hours ensuring that the proper steps are taken immediately, rather then in the morning when the malfunction impacts productivity.

Disaster Recovery
